Viola Davini

Co-founding member and Association Secretary of scientia Atque usus Research Center

Ph.D.

Professional Profile

I believe in communication as common action—a shared space in which different interests can meet and find possible forms of mediation. In my work, I seek solutions that facilitate dialogue and collaborative group work, supporting design and planning processes through continuous monitoring of outcomes and addressing unforeseen events as opportunities to redefine priorities of action when necessary. I strongly believe in the value of cooperation between the scientific community and local stakeholders to promote research conceived as a common good, capable of generating social, cultural, and economic value, particularly in the fields of health, cultural heritage, and rural development.

I am a founding member of the scientia Atque usus Research Center for Generative Communication (ETS), where I serve as Executive Secretariat and coordinate external relations and public engagement activities at both national and international levels. I also collaborate as a consultant with the Generative Communication Lab of the PIN Foundation – University of Florence.

My work focuses on the design and implementation of Generative Communication strategies, and I am involved in community-based participatory research projects in collaboration with institutions, businesses, and Third Sector organizations, with particular attention to innovation and social impact.

I am co-editor of the volume Eva, Adam and the Tree of Knowledge. Gender Health as a Tool for Personalized Care (sAu Community series) and a member of the editorial staff of the journal Quaderni di sAu.

Since 2019, I have served as Academic Coordinator of the Master’s Programme in Medical and Scientific Communication and Health Services at the University of Florence. I am currently a Research Grant Holder at the Department of Legal Sciences for the project Mediation as a Common Good, carried out in collaboration with the sAu Research Center.
